Kenny Chesney Signs Deal With TMG/ AEG Live
(June 28) Kenny Chesney’s multiyear tour deal with TMG / AEG Live could last until 2013.
The contract kicks-in in 2009. The financial details were not disclosed but it is known that the agreement does not include an advance or signing bonus.
Chesney will be paid a set amount based on the number of tickets available for sale. This creates an added incentive for TMG / AEG Live to sell as many seats as possible.
On the up-side, the agreement allows both parties to enjoy greater flexibility. Chesney has about five years to complete three years’ worth of touring and TMG / AEG Live doesn’t have to set ticket prices with the pressure of an upfront guarantee.
In only six years, Chesney has sold about 7 million tickets and grossed over $300 million.
Meanwhile, Chesney’s current tour remains one of the most popular tours of the summer. Performances will continue through September 2008.
