NCAA Experiences Ticket Delays For First and Second Round Games
(June 26) Many fans wait in frustration as NCAA ticket delays for the first and second round tournament games at the Wachovia Center continue.
Yesterday a spokesperson for Comcast-Spectacor said, “It’s going to take a little longer than expected.” Fans who applied for tickets may have to wait until sometime later this summer to get a response from the NCAA.
The problems began at the beginning of the process when the NCAA website and application process experienced initial delays. High demand for tickets prompted the NCAA to then issue a ticket lottery to determine which fans would purchase tickets. Those who applied for tickets were told that if they weren’t selected for the tickets, they would be refunded the ticket price minus a $10 per ticket service charge.
Although tickets won’t be sent out until February 2009, fans are aggravated about delays. Of course, the actual games, which are scheduled for Thursday, March 19th and Saturday, March 21st, in Philadelphia should play out according to schedule.
